Find a lost key

How long is the free trial?

7 days from the first time you open DeletePal. Everything works, and you don't need a credit card.

What happens when the trial ends?

To keep using DeletePal, buy it once for $10. Anything you removed stays in your Trash, and you can still put it back even if you don't buy it.

How do I activate my license?

Open DeletePal, choose Settings from the DeletePal menu, paste your key under License, and click Activate. Your key is in your purchase email.

How do I move my license to another Mac?

On the old Mac, open Settings and click Move to Another Mac, then paste your key on the new one. A key works on up to 3 Macs at once.

Email us from the address you bought with, and we'll clear it for you.

Does it work offline?

Yes. It needs the internet to activate. After that, being offline never turns off a license you paid for.

Why can't it find everything an app left behind?

Some apps keep files in protected folders. In System Settings, open Privacy & Security, then Full Disk Access, and turn on DeletePal. Then open DeletePal again.

Is it safe to clear temporary files?

Yes. Apps rebuild them when needed, so an app might load a little slower the next time. Anything from an app that's open stays unticked.

What does the menu bar icon do?

It shows your free space and memory, and it notices when you drag an app to the Trash. You can turn it off in Settings.

Will turning something off in Opens at Login break it?

It stops that item starting by itself, and nothing is deleted. If an app misbehaves, turn it back on.

Why isn't it on the App Store?

Apple's rules don't let App Store apps clean up after other apps, so it's sold here. Apple still checks every version for malware.

What shows on my card statement?

A charge from LINK.COM, the checkout service DeletePal is sold through.

How do I remove DeletePal itself?

Drag it from Applications to the Trash. To clear its small settings folder too, open Finder, choose Go, then Go to Folder, paste ~/Library/Application Support, and delete the DeletePal folder.
