DeletePal doesn't have accounts, analytics or ads. What it shows you about your Mac stays on your Mac.

What stays on your Mac

Your running apps, your installed apps, your file names and the list of things you've removed are read and kept on your Mac. When you use Big Files or Duplicates, DeletePal reads your files on your Mac to compare them. None of it is sent anywhere.

What leaves your Mac

DeletePal connects to the internet for two things:

  • Your license. When you activate, and about every two weeks after that, DeletePal sends your license key, a random ID for this activation and a scrambled ID for this Mac to this website, to confirm the license is valid. The Mac ID means reinstalling, or using another account on the same Mac, doesn't use up one of your 3 Macs. It's made only for DeletePal, so it can't be traced back to your Mac or matched with other apps. It never sends your computer's name.
  • Updates. DeletePal asks this website whether there's a new version. Like any web request, this reveals your IP address and app version to the web host. You can turn it off in Settings.

Support emails. If you email us from DeletePal, the email starts with your Mac's model, its macOS version, DeletePal's settings, how often it crashed lately, and a short list of recent removals with their dates, sizes and folders like Applications. It never includes file names or your license key. Nothing is sent until you press Send, and you can delete any of it first.

When you buy

You check out with Link, Stripe's checkout service, which is the merchant of record. It collects your payment details under the Stripe privacy policy, and we never see your full card number.

We keep your email address, your order number, the dates you activated and the scrambled Mac IDs, so we can send your key, re-send it if you lose it, and help you. We also keep the country Stripe reports and which of our Buy buttons or ads you came from, to see which ones work. We store a scrambled version of your key, not the key itself.

This website

This site counts page visits and button clicks to see what works. It doesn't use cookies or save your IP address, and the counts can't be traced to you. For each visit, it adds 1 to that day's count for the page, the kind of site you came from (like a search engine), your type of device and your country. If you followed a link from one of our ads, the ad's code (the ref= part of the link) is counted too.

Services we use

  • Stripe handles checkout and payment.
  • Namecheap hosts this website's pages.
  • Cloudflare delivers this website and keeps the license records and the visit counts.
  • Resend delivers license emails.

Your choices

To ask about the data held about you, or to have it deleted, email [email protected]. Deleting your purchase record ends your license. To remove DeletePal's own data from your Mac, delete the app and its folder in ~/Library/Application Support.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page.
